Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik has said that over 8 lakh people must be evacuated as the cyclone is ‘extremely severe’. He had said in a statement that: ‘I appeal to children, women, old, disabled to be evacuated first and then the rest among the 8 lakhs.’ He said that the state is fully prepared to tackle the cyclone.
